About the Fleetwood Bowls Festival

The Fleetwood Bowls Festival (which began in 1980) is a prestigious crown green bowls tournament attracting competitors from all over the country.
The winners of the Ladies and Men's Competitions automatically qualify for the Champion of Champions event at the Waterloo.
The Festival also features Junior Competitions; which are open to any youngster under the age of sixteen years.

The Competition is played on the greens in Fleetwood's newly, re-developed Marine Gardens. This is usually in the last week of July.
Bowling greens in the Memorial Park and Fleetwood Bowling Club are also used during the preliminary rounds.

The Festival benefits the town greatly by attracting many visitors during the last week of July.
Other bowling clubs also benefit by holding their own competitions during the same week.

The Festival Committee Organisation is non-profit-making and consists entirely of unpaid volunteers.
They are prepared to give their time and energy to ensure that the event runs smoothly.
We also rely heavily on local volunteers for assistance during Festival week.

We are thankful to many local businesses who provide us with sponsorship and raffle prizes.
And to all the programme, football card and raffle ticket sellers.
Their sales supplement the prize fund; which is needed to maintain our prestige status.
